Lullaby and Eulogistic Dance is a piece written for violin and piano. It begins with a simple step-wise melody that floats over a more chromatic and rhythmically active piano part, almost as if it is a song of comfort sung by a mother for a child at the beginning of a mysterious life. Following the third retelling of the lullaby, the piece moves into a more measured environment where both the violin and piano take turns in a sort of expression of gratitude through rhythmic celebration.
