Spring 2019 & Spring 2020
As part of a music composition elective available at the U of S department of music, students enrolled in the class were assigned solos, duos, and ensembles, and composed a 5 minute piece for the participating group. The students had their pieces read twice by the ensembles, and had a chance to edit and revise the music between readings. Both classes (2019 and 2020) responded well with creative, organized, well prepared, idiomatic music. Beyond my expectations to be honest, and far beyond anything that I composed at a similar age.
