Fall 2017 to Spring 2018
What a great chance to collaborate with the Gryphon Trio, Carmen Bradon, and the SSO at St. Mary’s Wellness and Education Centre in Saskatoon, SK! Myself and Ms. Braden worked directly with the students to come up with ideas for original compositions on the theme of Kitochikiwan (Cree for “All my relations”). These compositions were then performed for the public by the newly-formed student choir of St. Mary’s and the world-renowned Gryphon Trio. While the challenge of engaging children with little or no previous exposure to choral singing or classical was a unique and difficult one, it allowed for an incredibly moving and gratifying experience and final performance.
