In Danse Exotique des Gros Papillons (Exotic Dance of Giant Butterflies) we find two distinct ideas: A drifting, air-cushioned, descending line that seems to want to fall the length of the spectrum, (usually this line is not alone, but exotically accompanied), and a quicker, tone-changing, accented line that seems, through erratic flaps, to keep everything aflight. Danse Exotique des Gros Papillons was written in the Spring of 2014 for Glen Gillis and Bonnie Nicholson.
